Pre LASIK Assessment

A detailed LASIK suitability assessment typically involves an accurate measurement of your refractive errors. A corneal topographic assessment is also performed to determine the shape and thickness of your corneas. A wavefront analysis may also be needed. All these tests are performed in conjunction with a complete eye exam included a dilated retinal exam.

As the pre-LASIK assessment is a thorough and detailed one, it typically takes about 2 hours.
You are adviced to lay off your soft contact lenses for 5 days and rigid gas permeable contact lenses for 2 weeks prior to the LASIK assessment. It is also suggested that you bring in your latest pair of glasses/spectacles on the day of assessment.

As the pre-LASIK assessment is a thorough and detailed one, it typically takes about 2 hours. Vision will be slightly blurry after the assessment as the eyes will be dilated. It is therefore sensible to refrain from driving personally on the day of assessment.
