Common Questions Answered

Is LASIK painful?
LASIK is virtually painless. There may be a mild grittiness for the first few hours after the surgery. This resolves over 4-6 hours.

When can I resume routine activities?
Recovery after LASIK is very fast. Most patients will have enough functional vision the day following LASIK to resume normal activities. However, it is advised that swimming and contact sports/activities are avoided for 1 month following surgery.

Is the outcome permanent?
There can be some variability as the eyes recover in the first few weeks after LASIK. Once stability is achieved, the results are expected to be permanent.
